![]() Trading up for a player you like IMO is taking the BPA. I'm not saying they HAVE to trade up for a WR, just that if they do identify 1-2 players that they like more than the rest and they are within reach they should consider doing so. What if we had waited and took Elam instead and McDuffie had gone to Buffalo? KC traded up for Rice in the 2nd instead of waiting, and they traded up in the 1st for McDuffie to make sure he didn't go to Buffalo. Teams have their preferences, and IF they identify a particular WR who is within reach, why not guarantee you get that player instead of just waiting? We know that there is almost always a run on WRs right before we pick. Problem with this stance is I sincerely doubt KC has an equal grade on every player. More WR talent than ever is being developed after the 1st rd.Īnd yeah I'd rather have Rice than any of the 1st rd WR's this past draft ![]() Don't pick a player simply for need in the 1st rd.
